As part of its global growth, Happy Happy attended the 2025 London Coffee Festival and collaborated with Flo-Smart to pour plant milk. To learn more about how it benefited Happy Happy, I spoke to Jack Gerrard-Stevenson, Head of London Happiness. Read on for his insight.

How did Happy Happy use Flo-Smart systems at London Coffee Festival?

The team used a Flo-Smart machine to quickly and efficiently pour oat iced lattes for visitors at London Coffee Festival. They needed equipment that was not only fast and easy to operate, but also consistent.

“At the festival, Flo-Smart gave us the speed and capacity to share liquid happiness with more people than ever,” Jack tells me.

It dispenses a pre-determined serving in six seconds with a tap of its counter-top buttons. This speed is essential for settings such as trade shows, where hundreds of passers-by are constantly going past a booth.

With a system that can almost instantly pour a drink so it’s ready for visitors to try, it’s much easier to entice them to stop and learn more. “People can’t quite believe how quickly we can serve something that tastes so good,” he says.

This efficiency went hand-in-hand with ease of use for Jack and the Happy Happy team. “It’s brilliantly intuitive: at the touch of a button, you’re suddenly serving high-quality drinks at high speed.”

Flo-Smart systems offer three different pouring methods. For high-volume settings like expos and rush hour at coffee shops, the automatic setting is most suitable. The system senses the pitcher size and automatically dispenses the right amount of liquid.

You can also choose semi-automatic pouring, where you select the volume from preset options, or a manual setting where you press and hold to dispense. With that flexibility, you can alter your service methods on the fly, which is essential if you’re managing an event stand all day.

For the Happy Happy team, the ease of using Flo-Smart equipment was priceless. “We poured chilled drinks cleanly, quickly, and consistently,” Jack says.

In turn, it helped their brand stand out and attract prospective customers. “It let more visitors taste how well our oat m*lk works with coffee,” Jack shares.

The other benefits of Flo-Smart for Happy Happy

Alongside speed and efficiency, Jack saw a number of other benefits of using Flo-Smart at London Coffee Festival. One was its compatibility with various oat milk storage formats, making it easy to integrate into their system.

“It also helped us showcase our new five-litre oat bladder: less packaging, faster refills, and smooth integration with automation,” he tells me. “That’s more drinks, less waste, and more happy faces.”

Since Flo-Smart systems are compatible with standard coffee industry bladders, they’re very easy to add to your workspace. As Jack mentions, it can not only make your equipment setup more efficient, but also minimise single-use packaging waste. As sustainability becomes increasingly important in the coffee industry, finding ways to reduce your reliance on bottles and cartons is hugely important.

Another benefit for businesses like Happy Happy is Flo-Smart’s ability to quickly and seamlessly switch between drinks and flavours. Coming in two- and four-tap models, each tap works independently to dispense different liquids.

For businesses at trade shows like Happy Happy, variety is essential to demonstrate the range of drinks their milks are suitable for. “Whether it’s iced coffee, matcha, or something more creative, Flo-Smart makes switching between drinks effortless,” Jack adds.

It opens up a range of possibilities for businesses displaying their products on a show floor. With one tap, you can dispense iced coffee for example, and then matcha or plant milk with the other. It gives you a wider breadth of options – and as such, can entice customers with a range of taste preferences.

Ultimately, Happy Happy is a company with a reputation for excellence, and standards it needs to uphold when displaying its products at trade shows. “We keep our quality high and our focus on creating small, joyful changes, because what we drink every day shapes the future we want to see,” Jack says. Your equipment needs to be as ambitious and innovative as your business, so choosing suitable systems is essential.

Happy Happy’s use of Flo-Smart equipment at the London Coffee Festival demonstrates this need. It met their requirements for high-speed, efficient dispensing that the team could adjust on the fly. That way, the business could effortlessly showcase its plant milks to potential customers.
